Step by step

1. New study. In the dashboard, open New study and name it after your decision. Choose a language and a template or blank study. Name: Address change · Participant language.

1. Choose evidence. In the builder, add Context for the situation, a task to observe the action and an open question to understand the reason. Context → task → open question.

1. Configure each block. Select each block. Fill in its prompt, options or screens and required setting where available. Use the question guides for type-specific fields. Prompt without revealing the answer · Options suited to the audience.

1. Walk through the flow. Use Test full flow to check sequence and logic. Check appearance in desktop and mobile previews. Real integrations require validation using the published link. One valid response · One alternative path.

Validate before collecting responses

The side preview lets you inspect a block; for Figma it is static. To validate draft rules and order, use Test full flow, without creating sessions or taking quota slots. Figma, recording, voice and AI follow-up require the published link. Test published opens the real /r/[token] link: it can create responses and consume quota. Separate these tests when analyzing your collection.

Cautions and limitations

• Do not turn every question into a scale: tasks observe behavior and open questions explain reasons.
• Adapt templates to your context and language.

Choose the question type

• Open question: Discover the reason in the participant’s own words.
• Multiple choice: Compare options with single or multiple selection.
• Matrix: Rate several items using the same response scale.
• Ranking: Ask for a complete priority order.
• MaxDiff — priorities: Find priorities through most and least important choices.
• Yes or no: Get a direct binary answer.
• Simple input: Collect a short value in a defined format.
• Context text: Prepare participants for the next activity.
• Screener: Let only participants matching your profile continue.
• Opinion scale and metrics: Choose the right scale for clarity, recommendation, satisfaction or usability.
• Prototype task test: Observe whether participants reach a goal and which paths they take.
• First click: Discover where someone would try to start a task.
• Five-second test: Measure what people remember after brief exposure.
• Preference test: Compare versions and discover the reason for a choice.
• Card sorting: Discover how people organize information.
• Tree test: Check whether menu structure leads to the expected destination.
