Prototype task test

Observe whether participants reach a goal and which paths they take.

What it does

Measure navigation behavior in Figma or interactive images with a defined task and success criterion.

When to use it

Before developing or changing a flow; free exploration is for observation without a correct goal.

Before you begin
  • Screens imported in the Prototype tab.
  • Choose display compatible with available links and an exit through giving up or a time limit.

See how it works

Present screens in sequence when there are no navigable links.

Follow the step instructions below. A screen capture is not available for this step.

Import or upload the images that will form the sequence.

An example to try

Find the receipt for your last payment.

What you see in results

  • Compare success, time and path against the defined goal.
  • Free exploration records paths, clicks and time; success and score do not apply.

Avoid these mix-ups

  • Do not publish an unreachable goal.
  • Guided progression is not equivalent to finding paths unaided.
  • Study session replay and video recording are different features.
