Step by step

1. Open the open question. In the builder, click Add block, Open question and select the new block. Under Question, enter What made the task difficult? Check the prompt in preview before configuring AI. What made the task difficult?.

2. Enable probing. In question properties, enable AI follow-up. Check the language in Share and publish the revision. This enables an optional follow-up; execution also depends on AI availability and limits in the environment. Participant language.

3. Rehearse an answer. Open the public link and answer The option was hard to find. Continue and, if available, review the follow-up and answer the requested reason. Preview does not call this AI; testing the published link may create a response and consume quota. The option was hard to find.

4. Read in context. In the study, open Results and People; find the test participation and open its dossier. Under Responses for this version, check the main answer and any recorded follow-up question and answer. The AI question is context; the person’s answer is the evidence. Do not treat AI text as the participant’s answer.

Validate before collecting responses

In the builder, Study preview applies draft groups, rules and screening without creating sessions or taking quota slots. For Figma tasks, websites and interviews, it shows Simulated answer to test logic: the author supplies the outcome; this does not demonstrate a real interaction.

Preview in new tab lets you check each block on desktop or mobile, including interactive Figma navigation and a simulated interview conversation. This block preview does not apply study skip rules.

To validate real websites, recording, voice and AI follow-up, publish and use Open link in new tab in Share. The published link opens a real participation at /r/[token]: it may create responses and consume quota. Keep this participation separate when analyzing collection.
