Distinguish reaching a screen, following a path and observing clicks on sequential screens.

Step by step

1. Select mode. In the builder, select Prototype test and Directed task under Activity mode. Under Display, use Interactive Figma for the file, Images with links for drawn areas or Image sequence for author-defined progression. Directed task · Interactive Figma, Images with links or Image sequence.

2. Define task and start. Under Mission instruction, enter Find where to change the delivery address. Select the Prototype and Start screen. For an image sequence, select the flow screens in order and check the first selected thumbnail. Find where to change the address.

3. Configure success and exit. Under Goal mode, choose Reach a screen and select confirmation, or Follow an exact path and select the expected sequence. In Image sequence, the last screen is the goal: configure Advance by. Review the time limit and give-up setting. Confirmation screen · Exit by timeout or giving up.

4. Validate outcomes. Select the task and click Preview in new tab. With Interactive Figma, navigate the screens; with images, use links or the configured advance control. Check that reaching the goal ends the task. Restart to test giving up or timeout if enabled. This preview does not record responses or apply study skip rules. Study preview tests rules using a simulated Figma outcome · To check recording and results, publish and complete a real participation; it may consume quota.

Validate before collecting responses

In the builder, Study preview applies draft groups, rules and screening without creating sessions or taking quota slots. For Figma tasks, websites and interviews, it shows Simulated answer to test logic: the author supplies the outcome; this does not demonstrate a real interaction.

Preview in new tab lets you check each block on desktop or mobile, including interactive Figma navigation and a simulated interview conversation. This block preview does not apply study skip rules.

To validate real websites, recording, voice and AI follow-up, publish and use Open link in new tab in Share. The published link opens a real participation at /r/[token]: it may create responses and consume quota. Keep this participation separate when analyzing collection.

Cautions and limitations

• Image sequence advances by author rules; it does not prove that product navigation was discovered.
• Giving up a task and abandoning the study are different outcomes.
