Import a Figma prototype

Connect the account and bring the screens from a flow.

Purpose

Make named, ordered screens available to visual blocks.

When to use it

When testing an existing prototype or images without a Figma file.

Before you start

  • Permission to the Figma file or prepared images
  • An editable study

Example

Import the address flow and select its start screen.

Step by step

  1. Open Prototype. Open the study and click Prototype. For a Figma file, use Connect Figma if your account is not connected. For prepared screenshots, find image upload and choose that source before selecting files. Figma · PNG, JPG or WebP.
  1. Import material. With Figma connected, paste its Share prototype link into Prototype link and click Import. The link must include the start screen. For images, select PNG, JPG or WebP. Wait for processing or read the displayed error. Check file access · Check the displayed upload limits.
  1. Check screens. When thumbnails appear, check that the set includes the start and confirmation screens. Review their names so you can recognize them in the builder. For uploaded images, adjust the order and check that no required screen is missing. Recognizable start screen · Goal screen present.
  1. Use in a block. Return to the builder, click Add block and choose Prototype test. Under Prototype, select the imported set and define the start screen. Check the image in preview; follow the task guide to configure success criteria before publishing. Prototype, first click, five seconds or screen interview.

Validate before collecting responses

In the builder, Study preview applies draft groups, rules and screening without creating sessions or taking quota slots. For Figma tasks, websites and interviews, it shows Simulated answer to test logic: the author supplies the outcome; this does not demonstrate a real interaction.

Preview in new tab lets you check each block on desktop or mobile, including interactive Figma navigation and a simulated interview conversation. This block preview does not apply study skip rules.

To validate real websites, recording, voice and AI follow-up, publish and use Open link in new tab in Share. The published link opens a real participation at /r/[token]: it may create responses and consume quota. Keep this participation separate when analyzing collection.

Cautions and limitations

  • Use the Figma presentation link for the correct flow.
  • Figma limits can block a new import; a compatible existing import may be reused.
