The Journey view

Locate friction on each study screen.

Purpose

Connect routes, clicks and comments to a specific screen.

When to use it

In studies with prototypes or screen interviews containing navigation data.

The address screen has many off-button clicks and route exits.

Step by step

1. Open Journey. In a study with screens and real responses, open Results and Journey. Select the version and check the session sample. If the view is unavailable, check that the published version contains a visual block with recorded navigation. Study screens.

2. Read the map. On the Journey map, locate the start screen and follow arrows to confirmation. Read each route’s volume and any drop-off shown between screens. Note where the route loses people so you can inspect that screen next. Start → intermediate screens → goal.

3. Open the dossier. Click the critical screen thumbnail to open its dossier. Switch between Heat and Points; use Areas when links exist. Compare clicks with the intended button and screen sample. Read comments beside the image; heat does not measure satisfaction. Clicks inside and outside areas.

4. Open People or Paths. Open People to find sessions supporting the finding and review available replay. To compare aggregate sequences, go to Questions, select the prototype block and open Paths. Check the start, screen order and outcome before explaining the difficulty. Individual evidence alongside aggregates.

Cautions and limitations

• Heat indicates click concentration, not satisfaction.
• Compare the same layout and slice; Behavior uses a different, relative map without a screenshot background.
