Limit the total and balance profile options.

Purpose

Control study slots according to the intended sample.

When to use it

When you have a target total or per-screening-option limits.

Before you start

  • A compatible single-choice question for per-option quotas
  • A sample plan

Example

Collect a defined total with separate slots by age group.

Step by step

  1. Prepare the question. In the builder, create the screener or single choice defining the group. Review options before linking them to quotas. Non-overlapping groups.
  1. Set total. Open Quotas in Share and enter the desired total limit. Check that it fits your per-group slots. Sample target.
  1. Allocate by option. Select the compatible question and assign option limits. Save and configure the quota-full return if using a panel. Question · Option · Limit.
  1. Check slots. During collection, watch the Quotas card and outcomes. Investigate differences between starts and completions before raising limits. Reservations and completions are different counts.

How to read the result

  • Slot counters in Results
  • Quota-full outcome when no slot is available

Cautions and limitations

  • A study quota differs from the plan response limit and recruitment credits.
  • Per-option quotas are not crossed quotas across several questions.
