What the "UXTap — Real website test" extension captures, when, and what it never captures.

In plain language
- The extension only does something during a UXTap test, and only on the website indicated by the researcher.
- It records where you clicked, how much you scrolled, which pages you opened, and takes screenshots of the website screen.
- It never records what you type, nor the content of form fields, nor passwords.
- Outside the test, it remains inactive and sends nothing. You can remove it at any time.
This summary helps to understand, but does not replace the text of the clauses below.
1. When it becomes active
- 1.1The extension only collects after a UXTap tab starts a test and informs the address of the website to be tested.
- 1.2Collection only happens on pages of the domain indicated by that test.
- 1.3Once the test is over, or the UXTap tab is closed, collection stops.
- 1.4On any other website, and at any other time, the extension does not install capture nor send data.
2. What is captured during the test
- 2.1Address and title of pages visited within the tested website, with window dimensions.
- 2.2Clicks: position on the page and a short identification of the clicked element, including the visible text of buttons and links.
- 2.3Page scrolling.
- 2.4Screenshots of the website under test, in image format, including in slices to reconstruct the entire page.
3. What is never captured
- 3.1Keystrokes.
- 3.2Content of text fields, passwords, or form data.
- 3.3Pages outside the test domain, including other tabs.
- 3.4Browser history, favorites, or cookies.
Attention: as the extension photographs the screen of the tested website, information displayed on the page may appear in the image. Do not log in with real personal accounts during a test, unless otherwise instructed by the researcher.
4. Where the data goes
- 4.1Events and images are sent to UXTap and linked to that test's session.
- 4.2The team of the researcher who created the study, who is the data controller, sees this material.
- 4.3Images are kept in private storage, accessible only by a short-lived signed link.
5. Permissions requested and why
- 5.1Tab access: to know which tab is on the test site and coordinate screen capture.
- 5.2Storage: to save, in your own browser, the state of the ongoing test.
- 5.3Website access: necessary because the website to be tested is defined by the researcher and can be any address. Effective use is restricted to the active test domain.
6. How to remove
- 6.1In Chrome, open chrome://extensions, find "UXTap — Real Website Test" and click Remove.
- 6.2Nothing from the extension remains in the browser after removal.
- 6.3To request deletion of already collected data, use uxtap.app/privacidade/meus-dados.
